‘Proud to Be Our Best’ – Reevy Hill Primary School Praised by Ofsted

Staff and pupils at Reevy Hill Primary School are celebrating after a glowing Ofsted report recognised the school’s continued commitment to improvement and dedication to its community.

Following a two-day inspection in February, Ofsted confirmed that the school has taken effective action to maintain the high standards noted at its previous inspection, where it was judged as ‘Good’. The latest report highlights strong leadership, an ambitious curriculum, and a clear focus on pupil development as central to the school’s ongoing success.

Inspectors described Reevy Hill as a “happy place” where pupils “enjoy coming to school” and “live and breathe the school’s motto: ‘Proud to be our best’.” They praised the children as “courteous and respectful”, noting that pupils “thrive at the school” and “live up to the school’s high expectations for them.”

The school’s inclusive approach was also celebrated, especially its support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The dedicated SEND Hub was described as providing “personalised support in a well-designed environment” for children with more complex needs, helping every pupil to thrive.

Reevy Hill’s commitment to developing responsible citizens was another key strength. Roles such as prefects, parliament members and mental health ambassadors give pupils meaningful responsibilities and help prepare them “to be positive contributors to society.”

The school’s ambitious curriculum was praised for enabling children to build strong knowledge from Nursery through to Year 6. Reading continues to be a standout strength, with inspectors noting pupils’ enthusiasm for books and authors, and their pride in the school library and weekly borrowing opportunities.

Ofsted also recognised significant improvements in maths, following strategic changes in teaching and professional development for staff.
